Well the folks at Google and Samsung have decided to postpone the unveiling of the Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus. The phone had been expected to be shown at the CTIA Unpacked event on October 11th. The Nexus Prime is expected to launch with the first Ice Cream Sandwich android OS. The phone should also be packing a large superamoled plus screen in the ballpark of 4.5-4.6 inches. Expect Samsung’s dual core Exynos chips inside to provide blistering processing speeds and brutal graphical capabilities. Of course the unique feature, at least physically, should be the curved display/handset, which seemingly has a fairly pronounced curve to it. Here is what Google and Samsung had to say about the postponement.
“Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced”.
And to further explain the whole thing a spokesperson added that the delay was indeed due to the passing of Apple’s Steve Jobs who passed away earlier this week. However, we believe that they will move forward shortly with the phone within the next couple of weeks.
